AVC Learning Zone

The AVC Learning Zone (ALZ) was launched by the AGBU Armenian Virtual College on March 26, 2020, to meet the high demand for continuous online Armenian education during the global COVID-19 crisis. The interactive e-learning platform offered a brand-new virtual experience for learners from the Armenian and Diaspora.

The program runs in an entirely virtual environment and provides opportunities to about 1,500 participants to learn and discover interesting topics about Armenian history and culture.

The ALZ initiative was welcomed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, and received numerous positive feedbacks from the participants from around the globe. In May 2020, AVC introduced the second edition of ALZ, enhanced with new features and learning opportunities.

The Learning Zone offers various topics covering the most interesting aspects of Armenian heritage, including Armenian culture, language, history, religion, architecture, cuisine, and chess. These topics are mostly derived from AVC’s interactive eBooks, multimedia courses, and virtual tours, and are made available in seven languages: Eastern and Western Armenian, English, French, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish. The program offers live webinars featuring keynote speakers who delve into various aspects of Armenian culture, history, traditions, and holidays, bringing the rich tapestry of Armenian heritage to life.

The ALZ students from all over the world took part in the “Tracing the Armenian Heritage” contest and came up with creative presentations telling fascinating stories about the Armenian communities in their countries.
